Post-operative precautions

précautions post-operatoires pose de prothèse

Postoperatively, rehabilitation, if indicated, is started the next day with joint mobilisation to fight against ankylosis. Rehabilitation is usually continued for several weeks in a rehabilitation centre and then at home. In the event of prosthetic surgery, a radiological control is required post-operatively to detect any potential loosening.

Regardless of the location, orthopaedic surgery is a delicate matter with many complications. Its indication in the treatment of osteoarthritis should be very carefully considered.
